Multi-Modal Transportation

Multi-modal transit at Port Sonoma means that nobody will have to walk more than five minutes to catch a bus, ferry, or train. The transit options at Port Sonoma will allow a wide range of destinations using environmentally responsible transit while reducing traffic on 101.

Rail Service Connection:

  • Links Port Sonoma to cities along the North Coast, as well as east into Napa Valley and the national rail network.
  • SMART Rail / Port Sonoma Ferry link transforms SMART into regional service by connecting Sonoma & Marin with San Francisco Bay Area
  • $17.9 million Federal upgrades to adjacent rail
  • Connecting ferries to rail extends committed funds from single to multi-modal system

Highway Connection

  • Direct access to Highway 37, an automotive link to North Bay counties.
  • Highway 101, Golden Gate Bridge connector 5 minutes away.

Bus Connection

  • Bus service can link Petalumans to Port Sonoma via Lakeville Highway, making transit complementary, not competitive to traffic on 101.

Pedestrian & Bike Access

  • Sonoma Baylands trail access, as well as public access on Port Sonoma
